Building a Foundation for Total Health
Chiropractic care is similar to building a house: certain steps must be followed in a specific order to ensure everything stands strong and functions correctly. If you try to put up walls before laying a solid foundation, the walls will be weak and may eventually collapse. Similarly, placing a roof before the walls are ready would lead to structural issues. The same principle applies to your body, which needs a particular plan of care to repair itself correctly and fully. There are three general phases of chiropractic care:
3 Phase Process
Phase 1:
Relief Care
If you are in pain when you visit our office, our first objective is to help you feel better. Depending on the severity of your issue, you may need care two to three times per week for four to 12 weeks.
Phase 2:
Corrective/Restorative Care
During this phase, muscles and other tissues are allowed to heal more completely, which helps prevent future injuries. Typically, you may need care four to eight times per month for six to 24 months, depending on your overall health and the severity of your condition.
Phase 3:
Wellness Care
Once your body has fully healed, it is important to come in for periodic adjustments to maintain your health and avoid future problems. This usually involves a quick visit to the chiropractor one to four times per month, depending on your lifestyle and goals.
